Surf lessons built around your level
The goal is not simply to push you into waves. We want you to understand the basics, feel more comfortable in the ocean, and make real progress.
Beginner lessons are commonly held near Playa Guiones. Playa Pelada and nearby areas may also work when tide, swell, ability, and conditions make sense.
First-time surfer or improving existing skills — we start with where you are now.
Timing may be selected around the tide rather than forcing the same time every day.
Wave size and direction help determine the most appropriate beach and surf plan.

Board Position
Learn body positioning so the board paddles and glides efficiently.
Paddling
Practice paddling and understand when to accelerate for a wave.
Pop-Up Technique

Your first waves should feel exciting, not complicated
We keep the first session practical and easy to understand while spending useful time actually surfing.
Everyone learns at a different speed. Your instructor adjusts the session instead of expecting every surfer to progress the same way.
Learn to understand the ocean one wave at a time
Surfing becomes more enjoyable when you begin to understand timing, positioning, waves, tides, and how your board responds in the water.
Choose the surf experience that fits your trip
Take your surfboard farther by boat
Our boat surf trips are designed for experienced surfers who want to explore beyond the usual beach session. We load the boards on the boat and use local ocean knowledge to make the most realistic plan based on swell, tides, wind, and conditions.
Boards on the boat, then we follow the conditions
The boat gives experienced surfers another way to explore the Pacific coast when conditions create a worthwhile opportunity.
We do not promise a particular surf break. The destination and final plan depend on swell, tides, wind, weather, ocean conditions, and the ability of the surfers.
Surfing is part of everyday ocean life in Nosara
Surf lessons, local sessions, boats, tides, swell, and the coastline are all connected. That everyday experience is what we bring to each session.
Local, practical and built around the ocean
Nosara Fish & Surf has spent more than a decade working in and around the ocean in Nosara. Surfing is part of the same local experience behind our fishing, SUP, and boat adventures.
Clear Instruction
Practical coaching that is easy to understand.
Patient Coaching
Progress without unnecessary pressure.
Local Ocean Knowledge

The best surf plan may change every day
Tides, swell size, wave direction, wind, weather, beach conditions, and surfer experience can affect the best time and location.
Boat surf trips depend even more heavily on daily ocean conditions because the goal is to make the safest and most realistic plan available.
